Education Services
Tri-County Early Head Start provides children with experiences that prepare them for future success in Head Start. The curriculum focuses on eleven domains of learning- physical health and development, social and emotional development, approaches to learning, language, literacy, mathematics, science, creative arts expression, logic and reasoning, social studies, and English language development.

Tri-County Early Head Start uses the Creative Curriculum, with other curricula added to support school readiness skills. Zoo-phonics is used to teach children letter sounds and names. Zoo-phonics gives each letter an animal name, sound and motion to address all styles of learning. Conscious Discipline is an approach to positive classroom guidance that includes social-emotional learning for children.

Early Head Start Center Based Option
There is a center located in Watervliet that offers a full day session, year round.
The other center located in Benton Harbor (in partnership with Bridges/Kinexus), offers a session Monday through Thursday 9:00-4:00, while parents attend classes. We provide bus transportation to support students and young children to get to the Early Head Start Center, then to Kinexus. We are also open for parents on Friday’s 9:00-1:00 (for students participating in Kinexus Programming or utilizing the Parent Resource Center at Early Head Start). The Benton Harbor Center’s session is September-May, for students enrolled in Bridges and Adult Ed (students participate in the Home Based option June- August).
